3-Ingredient Tie-Dye Cloud Bread

As seen on TikTok! This is essentially one huge meringue; it's bouncy, fluffy, and super fun to make and eat!

 

3-Ingredient Tie-Dye Cloud Bread

Gluten-Free, Nut-Free



Ingredients

  • 3 egg whites

  • 2.5 tbsp white granulated sugar

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

  • Food coloring of choice

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300 °F.

  2. Begin whipping the egg whites. When they begin looking frothy, gradually add in the sugar.

  3. When the mixture starts looking rather firm, sprinkle in the cornstarch. Whip until you achieve stiff peaks; the mixture should look smooth and glossy.

  4. Add in 4 drops of your food coloring of choice* and carefully (and not completely) fold it into the mixture until you achieve beautiful streaks of color throughout.

  5. Transfer your mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Use a spatula (offset is best if you have that on hand!) to form it into a round, loaf-like shape.

  6. Bake for about 25 minutes or until softly browned and bouncy to the touch.


Notes

*I folded in the food coloring at this point because I wanted tie-dye-like coloring. If you want a solid color for your bread, add the coloring in along with the cornstarch when whipping.

**The bread may look a bit wrinkly when baked; that’s ok! Remember, this isn’t actual bread, so don’t expect it to look and taste exactly like it!

***The bread will also deflate overtime as it sits, so I recommend enjoying it after it cools enough to handle.
