Homemade Za'atar Spice Mix | Garlic Za'atar Challah

Updated: Jul 28, 2020

For a Middle Eastern spice blend that is citrusy, herbal, and delicious.

You can use Za'atar on fish, chicken, vegetables, or even in challah (as pictured above). To create Garlic Za'atar Challah, I filled the dough with minced garlic and rolled half of the strands in Za'atar before braiding. I also topped the braided dough with a garlic-infused egg wash before baking. To learn how to create this stunning 8-stranded round braided challah, click here!
