Spiced Fig & Pear Challah | Filling Recipe

For a warmly spiced and naturally sweetened fruit filling perfect for challahs, crumbles, oatmeals, or pies featuring #ad D’vash Date Syrup!

Spiced Figs & Pears
4 Bartlett pears, diced into medium-sized cubes
1/3 c water
Juice of ½ lemon
1/4 c D’vash date syrup
5 sun dried figs, finely diced
1 tbsp cornstarch
½ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmeg
⅛ tsp allspice
⅛ tsp cloves
Pinch of salt
Add all of the ingredients to a medium saucepan over medium-high heat and bring to a simmer.
Stir every minute or so until the liquids have completely reduced, pears softened, and figs rehydrated. You should be able to easily put a fork through a piece of pear, and the pears should be aromatic and covered in a thick, sticky glaze.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge and use in challah, crumbles, oatmeal, pies, or any other way you can imagine (even on its own 😉)!
